We were betting on Derby day too! However, our bet wasn't for "Big Brown" it was for the "Big Budget truck!" We were trying to bet how far we would make it on 1 tank of gas! We picked up the truck on Derby day and ended up leaving a little later than we originally planned. It was so sad! I cried like a baby! I know I am 28 and I need to get a grip. I just can't help it! Family, friends and Juan are my world! The kids kept lingering around waiting to see if we had anything we might want to give away. I think my sisters probably wanted to kill me! I gave them so many random things! The girls were using the back of the moving truck as their stage and the ramp from the moving truck as their runway. They crack me up! The boys wanted to help carry boxes. The night before we left Cameron decided he wanted John to have his skate board. Talking about some tears, oh gees! I thought it was the sweetest gesture ever! He really wanted John to have something that was special to him! We love those kiddos more than they'll ever know.
We made the 20 hour drive, the 2 of us in a moving truck, no cd player, no comfy seats, pulling our car on a trailer, driving 60 mph the whole way. Oh, what a memorable ride. Once I pulled myself together and accepted the fact that we were on our way and we had bonding time! We made up games, solved the worlds problems, decided we both really don't care who the next president is, had karaoke( minus the mic), munched on snacks, drank gallons of water and coffee, talked some more, argued a little, and before we knew it we were in Ocala, FL. That is where we ended our first day. We were exhausted! Especially Juan, he drove the entire way and listened to me freak out every time an eighteen wheeler passed us going what felt like 100 mph! Whoa nelly!
The next morning we hit the road around 8am and arrived in Ft. Lauderdale around 1:00pm. Wow, the second day flew by. We were seasoned moving truck travelers at this point! The excitement had finally set in! We're here! Juan and I moved everything ourselves. It was quite a process! We are somewhat moved in. There are still tons of boxes that need opened. We absolutely love the location! I have several pictures to post but their in FL and I am in KY for work. Will post ASAP!
